Tell Me a Story

Often people ask me to 'tell them a story.' I always shoot back: 'What about?' I'm often answered in the same way: 'Ummmm... Whassup in school?' So I decided that I'll start something. Every end of term (4 times every school year) I'll type-- right here-- what exciting has happened that term. I'll take notes throughout the year, and type them here. If you want to hear a school story, say: What's up in school?, and  I'll run for my notes, and I'll tell you about it. I owe you one 4th grade term, though. So this is what I remember.

This year,2010-2011, is my first year with 3 teachers. I switch classes--finally! At the beginning of the year,  my friends Reese, Kemori, Ronnia, Ariel, Erykah, and Kyndall presented the idea to me: Making a movie. I thought it would be exactly what they said: a news show. AW, as lots of kids in 4th call a boy named Austin, had done something to pull the urge. AW had gone after a ball in some dirt. He chose a muddy spot. Now. Think about this. AW. Fourth grade's very own Smiley Clown.Ball.Through mud. Oh. Dear. Austin walked into that mud well, actually. Nothing went wrong- until his foot wouldn't come up. Yes. He put all weight on  the other foot, and brought up a mud-ball foot. Same thing happened 3 times per foot. Eventually neither came up.Whoa. Mr. Clown smiled, grinned, and laughed at his expanding audience. Miss Douglas and Mrs. Parks were laughing. Mrs. Dean, Austin's teacher, was shouting at all the kids to go play. Then Officer Hyche (She's the school officer) and Mr. Williams (The famous janitor) came out. Mr. Williams grabbed a long stick Austin held onto. AW fell, but eventually got out.WITHOUT his new-looking shoes. This was the first Friday of school. Austin is still at school, still funny, and he still has a nickname. Mud Boy.

We never did get that ball. But the show group decided to cover comedy, not news. We've made Comedy Gals, and we will soon start a new show, which we will most likely call Talent Gals. That's the news. Leave a comment for info. about buying a copy of the show. I don't know how much change, but $20 will be the limit. I'll see to that.;) Thanks!!!

P.S. No credit, debit, gift cards. No cards.Change only.:)

"Sing for This Baby"--A Poem for Baby Wetzel by Callie

Sing for this baby--
Sing for this child.
Be his grace and responsible leaders.

Shout for this baby--
Shout for this babe.
Step first for him to follow.

Love on this baby--
Love on this infant.
Show the blood of the LORD through his heart.

Land hard for this baby--
Land hard for this creation.
Be the one small, soft cushion to break his fall.

Adore this baby--
Adore this art.
House him and his heart forever.

Ache for this baby--
Ache for this one.
Warm his heart and feelings always.

Catch this baby--
Catch this doll.
Hold your arms out for him to trust.

Care for this baby--
Care for this life.
Home his parents, along with him.

Hold this baby--
Hold this heart.
Grab his life and touch his body.

Have this baby--
Have this wonder.
Accept what he is and does.

SING FOR THIS BABY--
SING FOR THIS CHILD.
BE HIS GRACE AND RESPONSIBLE LEADERS.

Asher Will Be Wonderful from callie to asher

 Asher will be wonderful
   Because his parents are.
Asher will preach, And sing God's name--
Because his parents will take him far.

He will dance and celebrate,
   Because his parents do.
He will trust and help his friends--
For his parents' trust is true.

Asher will always love the LORD,
   And his parents always will.
Asher will have strength to seek God's name--
And his parents- with him- will climb every hill.

Six Flags : Callie's side of the story

Six Flags 2010 005.jpg
This past weekend, the weekend of October 2-3, my  Mom, Dad, Caleb, Katie, our cousin  Ren, our Uncle Jerrod, our Grandma (Dottie),our Grandpa (Pawpaw), and our friends Sam and Cheri went to Georgia (Atlanta) for a Saturday at Six Flags!!!It was tons, loads of tons, and roller coasters of fun there!!! Want to know what I did- in order? Do not read this if you are pregnant. ( I managed not to throw up.)
Six Flags 2010 003.jpg
  1. Log Jamboree

Everyone went on this water ride: You sit in a plastic log.I sat with Mom, Dad, and Katie.  I remember it like it was yesterday, and it was.We started out slowly. We turned a corner, and another, and so on.We eventually got fast. We turned, and turned, and just let the water stay in control. We caught onto the slide-like ramp that pulled us up, and...

a turn.We turned and turned and caught another slide-ramp.This time,we went down a super-long slide!!! I felt like my legs would fall off!!! We got our picture taken during that.We turned two more curves, and climbed out.Running,we went to see ourselves on the picture-post. I was crazy-looking!!! I rode this twice.

  2. Mindbender
Everyone except Mommy, Katie, (too afraid) and Ren (too afraid) rode this ride. I waited in line,a mix of excitement and fright inside a little big girl. Finally, I climbed on with Daddy by my side.He videoed the whole thing with Jerrod's hand-camera.I was scared out of my skin.I kept my cheeks bulged, just in case. I managed not to throw up, and I actually had fun! Then we went through the first loop. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was fun!!! I couldn't believe I was alive, but I survived it to narrate such a treat today. We went wild after that, loops, sideways,super-speed -- you name it. We rode one more loop, went crazier, and jerked to a stop.We were through.Oh... to this day I know 1.The "Crazy" Mouse will never be satisfying again. 2.I will never again climb on a roller coaster unprepared again.I rode this one more time with Mommy, and I dared her to take this dare: If she screamed, she bought us cotton candy. If she didn't, I bought it. It couldn't be helped. She screamed.I am still waiting for-- wait. MOM??!!!YOU OWE ME ONE GINORMOUS BAG OF COTTON CANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There.

Six Flags 2010 009.jpg  3. Lunch
We all ate sandwiches at Dee Jay's Diner. The fries were acceptable, but nothing else seemed edible enough. Some dude kept yelling, "Hi!...Welcome to Dee Jay's!!!" About once, the workers repeated it, but more like this: "Hiwelcometodeejayz."Annoying,right?Right.

  4.Bunny Town Roller Coaster
All the kids and Dottie and Mommy rode this cool ride.We went in tunnels and we went sideways. It was awesome!!! I loved it!!! Katie  Bug really enjoyed it, though. She deserved it.She had watched Mr. Longlegs (a.k.a.Ren) ride her wanted ride: The big swings. She stared at him longingly. But now she was being rewarded.Good Job,Bug!

 5. Boar Ride
Katie,Ren,Caleb, and I rode this lame looking ride. The type that you get in and it takes you waaayy up in the air. Well,I rode that. I only rode it for Katie's sake. Just because this was a disappointing day for her. She is over three and a half feet, but not four feet. Ren, Mr. Long-legs, is tall enough for lots. And most rides  called for four feet of skin and bones. So I rode this just for her. I was going to pretend I was having the time of my life on that ride. I didn't need to. That ride was fast, furious, and everything I find fun in a ride.I rode ride next to that brown boar's smelly behind. Katie got his head, (did I mention we were riding in pigs?) so I am hoping that helped her feel important.(If sitting on a plastic pig can give any other feeling besides self-disgust.)It was amazingly awesome!!!

  6.Swings
Caleb,Katie,Ren, Mom,and I rode these boat shaped swings. We rode twice in a row! It was awesome! It was not crowded at all, either! It was high and wow WOW! At first I thought it would be exactly how I thought the Boar Ride would be. But no. It was amazing. More amazing than boars.Awesome, actually. And it was short.Which is why I am ending here.

  7.Wooden Roller Coaster
We waited really long, and the ride was really fast and cool.We went through tunnels and bridges,up and down. But is was too fast. Way too fast.It was fun! Katie bumped her head, and so did I.
 8. Henson Cars
Six Flags 2010 012.jpg Mama and I rode in this car. Actually, I "drove" it. Literally. I sat at a wheel and pedal with tiny tracks in  between honest-to-goodness car wheels. I pushed a pedal and turned a wheel. I  even had to step off the pedal to stop a few times because of stopped cars and a stop sign. It was awesome, but put Mom and I behind everyone. We rode the short circle. The shortest ride there. I'm stopping. It was that short.

  9.Bumper Cars
Jerrod, Katie, Ren, Caleb, and Mae rode this before Mom and I. When Mama and I finally got to ride, my car was backwards! We had to go a certain way, and mine was facing the wrong direction. But I went the right way the whole time, and Mama turned the wrong way and couldn't turn right. I bumped her a lot. Then we wound up bumped into each other. That was the end.

10.Scream Machine
Mr. Sam, Mrs. Cheri, Caleb,Jerrod,Ren, and I rode this.We went uuuuuuuuppp.....DDOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!Uuuuuuuppppppp...........
DDDDOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!Then up,down,up,down, updownupdown. We had a ton of fun. I rode with Mrs. Cheri, Caleb rode with Mr. Sam, and Ren rode with Jerrod. It was super fun!!! :) I loved this ride!

  11. Monster Mansion
Six Flags 2010 022.jpg Mr. Sam, Mrs. Cheri, and I rode that last ride of the night of the night for me. We climbed into a boat, and rode into a cheery tunnel. (I'm not being sarcastic.) A 'bird' took our pictures with monster faces. Then we rode into a room with songs, free kisses, ( A price was marked out on her board,) and warning farmers at the end. We reached "the end," but a farmer screamed, 'Don't go through the tunnel!!!' and what do you know-- we went in the wrong direction. Creepy  monsters that growled and jumped at you were there, doing their jobs, for sure. It was freaky!!! Then a nice policeman from the good world appeared, and said in a slightly stern, but mostly kind, relieved voice: "There y'all is-- we's been lookin' fer ya's." Then we went into a creepy, cool mist... with eyes. Green eyes. A dragon's mouth emerged from the mist, and again we took a turn for the worst-- that dumb reptile swallowed us. Swallowed. Down his mouth and through his throat. In his stomach, What did we find? A group of sad nice monsters and farmers and daring rescuers playing blues and harmonica, with sad, feeling faces? No. we saw the end of our ride. I often  wonder what happens to those who don't make it out so easily-- those people that really do go through that dragon's digestive system, in the science class of their lives.

I had so much fun that I want to go again, every day. I wish Sam and Cheri could come, and even you. Thanks for
coming to Six Flags-- if you really did, If you came while sitting at your computer, or if you were doing both. I enjoyed your company. Thanks!!!
