Hey, y'all! Many of us were on Spring Break this past week. I hope everyone had a nice, relaxing break from school and work and whatever else you caught a break from. I myself got a little break from school. 7th grade is fun, but everyone needs a break, even from the fun years. :)
I have a new hobby that I'm REALLY pumped about. I love longboarding! Of all things, a form of skateboarding is my new favorite thing to do, regardless of what is on my schedule! My longboarding buddy, Calvin, is always very patient and shows me what to do whenever I have a question. He is always willing to go when we can, and since I don't have my own and have to borrow one of his, it really means a lot to me. I am currently saving up to buy a $90 one off of Amazon(the same one he has. First one when you type 'longboard'. It's awesome, BTW.) so that I can stop bugging him to take me down the coolest hills, around the most exciting corners, and through awesome, half-competitive, half-I-know-you're-going-to-win-but-I-don't-care races down the coolest hills with the most exciting corners. I'm super excited about the next time I can go longboarding with Calvin. There really is nothing like the feeling of rushing down a hill(sometimes without a helmet, if I can get lucky enough:P) with absolutely nothing holding you on the platform that you have to steer. You have to remain calm, maneuver the hills carefully and proficiently with your whole body. But the thing is, you can't get it. Not unless you've done it, felt it, smelled it, heard it, breathed it, tasted it. Until you've done it, until you've felt like you're at the peak of what life can feel like and, sometimes, frankly on the brink of death, you cannot possibly understand why on Earth it is so addictive, so amazing, and so satisfying. Okay. Now I'm going to get off my soapbox and wrap this thing up. (SHAMELESS PLUG: IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING THAT I CAN DO TO EARN SOME CASH SO THAT I CAN BUY MY NEW BEST FRIEND FOR LIFE, PLEASE TELL ME!!!! I AM AVAILABLE FOR SERVICE!!! THANK YOU!!!)
Okay... I think that's about it! Please pray for those things(and let me know if I can work for some cash...)! I love you all so much! Thanks for reading!

Camp is Cool!!!
I'm pretty sure that this is the article I wrote for Parents&Kids magazine a few years ago! I edited a little... but here it is!
Have you ever been to camp? It's a lot of fun. In June, I went to my very first overnight camp. I went to Twin Lakes Christian Camp. To tell you the truth, I was more than excited. I was exploding. My good friend Ellie and her little sister Anna would be there on the same week, and we would be in the same cabin! I couldn't wait for fun, fun, fun!! Sadly, when we arrived at my cabin- my home for 6 days-'Callie' was on the door... and 'Ellie' wasn't. We were in different cabins, and I'd never been to camp before in my life. I had two super-nice counselors who made it a blast- and nine new friends. That week, I got scared in High Advanced Ropes course and Rock Wall, ziplined into the lake, slid into the pool, held baby ducks and little rabbits at Wild Wonderful Adventure(WWA), Slip'n'Slid, had super fun at superfun games, rode a disobedient but fun horse, and kayaked around the lake. It was a blast! Though I missed Ellie, I made the most of the trip, and there wasn't much to shoot down. My new friends and I came up with new, more accurate names for "Happy" Hill, like "Happy top-of the-hill," "Happy we're Suffering here Hill," and"Happy Done-with-it hill." I even learned firsthand what it was like to be Elijah- Ahab and Jezebel insisting Baal was God, fasting for so long, causing a drought. But he also taught Elisha about God, helped the widow and her son live, brought life back to the son, and was taken up to Heaven as reward. I was nervous about making friends, but I want to acknowledge Emilee, Emma, Jimmie Grace, Ginny, Shelby, Kelsey, Chrysten, Gracie, and Sarah Bess for a super fun week- and don't let me forget our counselors, Anne and Anna Kristen! The LITs (Leaders in Training) were also a lot of fun, joking with younger kids, especially if they're scared. But girls' night was one of the best nights.

Girls' Night is when all the girls get together and have a blast at the pavilion, and eat snowcones and cotton candy, and decorate the counselors in tissue paper. Our counselor named Anne got a super-pretty dress like a wedding dress, and a bouquet! The other counselor, Anna Kristen, got more of a bold outfit- a Viking suit, it looked like. But they were both beautiful. Again, I want to thank everyone for a fantastic week, and I can't wait to see everyone!I recommend this very highly, so consider going- it's the chance of a lifetime.:D
Twin Lakes is the place to be this 2012 summer--See you there!!!
Haha... okay, leave a comment if you saw this coming when you read that last post: I broke my arm at the beginning of the summer, and overall, it was probably the worst summer of my life. Just saying.
So, I'm in seventh grade now. Tomorrow is my thirteenth birthday! There are so many crazy things going on. Right now, Rico is missing. He has been for almost a full day now-- longer than ever before. It's pretty hard for me. I've been going door-to-door a little to ask if anyone's seen him. Dad says that someone has him, more than likely. I hope that someone is really nice to him. Toby is really sad without his brother and best friend. He cries and whimpers. Gosh, if Rico doesn't come back soon, I don't know what I'll do! It's so, so sad... I've been on the verge of tears for a whole day. If anyone out there knows where he is, by all means-- call my dad. It's really devastating. I haven't been able to eat anything since last night, not that I care, cause I don't want to eat anything. I'm trying not to think negatively, because I know that's just Satan tempting me to despair, but it's really hard. Prayers, prayers, prayers, please! I'm trying to keep an open mind. Everyone in my family is being pretty short with everyone else because we're sad, we're tired, we're just worried, and we don't know what to do about any of it! If you have ever had a beloved pet go missing, you know what I'm talking about.
Finally, everyone is gone! As much as we love, love, love our family, we are glad to have our house and routine back. Tomorrow, school starts back. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm really emotional and easily aggravated lately. Prayers for this, please. I don't like being short with my family, and I need to work on regaining control of my emotions and behavior. I have to go eat lunch now, but please, please, pray for these things and help me pray that Rico comes back or that we can find him ASAP!!! I love you all.

Long Time, No Post! :D
Hey!! So, Oh my gosh, I haven't posted in over a YEAR!!! Too crazy, right?!?! Well, I still make greeting cards, and I am always- ALWAYS- on the lookout for a way to make some extra cash. So, if you decide you would like to pay me to do something- anything, from babysitting to taking out the trash- just let me know in the comments.:) I'm very excited about being done with 6TH GRADE!!!!!!!! Tomorrow, Friday, May 16th, is Field Day and my last day! I can't believe it! This has been a roller coaster of a year, and so many of ya'll have helped me get through it! I've been through bad days, tough teachers, weird situations, boys, weird boys in awkward situations(:D), and the most fun times of my life! I've been through happy times and sad times. And I couldn't have had any of the times without you all. You've been supportive, giving me advice and listening attentively, listening without giving advice (which you probably know is much, much better sometimes than throwing another opinion in:D haha), and just straight up being the best you can be and more than the best I need. I am soo excited about my very first summer at my brand-new house, with the neighborhood pool and the park! I am thrilled about having a close friend live in my neighborhood (a few, actually) and having that option of texting a quick 'let's meet @park' and riding my bike the short way to the playground. I know that while this will be a hard summer, and one I'll have to adjust to, it will also probably be the best summer of my life. I'm going to have to adjust to not seeing my friends daily (and not seeing some because they're moving out of state--:( ) and not hugging my BFF, Olivia, every morning to say hi. I will look forward to school starting, as I always do. I am absolutely ecstatic about this summer, and next year, I know I will have a fresh start, in some cases a clean slate, and a chance to go resolve some... complicated issues/relationships with friends and not-so-much friends. Anyway, as I start this next part of life, please continue to be there for me and encourage me as you have continuously.:) Thank you all for rocking the house and raising the roof!!:) I love you! Make sure you respond in the comments section!:D Luv ya

I've Got A Name, All My Own
Sue Ann Poppins.
Jessie Ray Falcorn.
Annie Miley Pants.
Jackson Mark Holmes.
Andy Brian Bhaer.
Drew Parker Barber.
Everyone has a name!!!Whether it's something normal, like Mary Anne Parkers,or something different, like Johanna Drelleanna Downstraughtta, it's a name. A name that only that one person could be given for those reasons her or his Mama or Daddy picked out. A name is like a memory. If you remember your eldest daughter's birth, you think of extraordinary things, and then little things that are tagged onto the important day's events. The same with a name. If I said,"Louisa May Alcott," then you would think of Josephine(Jo) March,Elizabeth (Beth) March,Margaret (Meg) March, Amy March, Marmee March, Father March,Hannah,Theodore (Teddy/Laurie) Laurence, Mr. Laurence, John Brooke, and Friedrich Bhaer. If I said, "Laura Ingalls Wilder," you would think of Laura, Mary, Carrie,Ma,Pa, and Jack. If I said,"Carren Baxxtarr, most of you would probably be thinking,"Who the World is that???"But every name has a meaning, and a reason.
"Callie"(Greek) means "Beautiful Voice; Most Beautiful." "Elizabeth"(Hebrew) means "My God is a Vow.""Caleb"(Hebrew) means "dog;heart;bold." "Aedan"(Gaelic) means "Little fire." "Kathryn" (Greek)means "Pure." "Dorothy"(Greek) means "Gift of God."So you know everything has a meaning.
A real, live meaning. If you are looking for why your parents named you...well...what you're named, ask a family member over... Two,if you like... and ask them to help you look up your name.Go to 'Baby Names World' and look at the meaning of your name. So you look up what your name is,and ask your family if you live up to the name God gave you. If not, there's a goal to set for you. Live up to your first name, then go to the middle. Then look for ways to help others live up to their name. There's always a way to help with God's favorite names!!!!
God trusts us- he wanted us to be a part of his family- and we need to live up to the badrillions of names in this huge world-- in this universe. God wants us to be called a name that he gave us. Even if it's the most random name that could have possibly popped into your parents' head, he put it there. It was probably the only name that he put in their heads. Is your name Rachelle Kelly? I bet that your parents were thinking 'Yuenii Weljaa' because your Aunt Radanne's friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's fiance's sister told them that you looked like a Yuenii and your favorite Grandma's uncle's sister's best friend's baby's name is Annjaa and your Grandpa's ex-girlfriend's mother's sister's book club friend's name is Weljon. I bet they might have named you Eliyshaa Keircch 'cause your Uncle Berby Johnnao liked Keircch and your Dad's Great- Great- Great- Grandma's Aunt's sister's cousin- in- law's fiance's best friend's name was Eli and your Mom's uncle's sister's boyfriend's grandma's cousin's sister- in- law's friend's hamster's name is Shaawflake. But God said,"Not Yuenii Weljaa, not Eliyshaa Keircch, not Yuenii Keircch, not Eliyshaa Weljaa. Rachelle Kelly." and aren't you glad your parents went with him? Deal with the teasing, deal with the bullies, deal with the exceptions for your friends. Deal with yourself and your problems. Deal because God did.

Serving Your God Forever and Always
Hello, Friends and Followers.I write for love, enjoyment, desire, and pleasure. But do I really just write for me? Do you just turn knobs and push buttons, or cook 24-7-365,or fix things for strangers and family, or do whatever you possibly do, just for you? Do you just write poems for love?Or go through your childrens' annoying phases for an extended Discipline-your-Children class because of you??? Honestly.
Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, whether you like it, know it, or not.He payed us one hundred percent(100%)-- Meaning the keeping of our lives--so we should use them to pay him back. Tell me if you have ever-- in your life-- been able to walk up to Jesus Christ and say"Hello, Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, Thank you for saving my life by having a few wrong-thinking people nail you to a piece of bark." Ever?? Didn't think so.
Use this life, this wondrous life,to be a servant. Put yourself in a servant's position and serve God. If you are looking for a birthday present for Jesus, or a chance to scream to the heavens "Thank You!!!", then you have come to the end of your search. You should work for him. Not just everyday work. Don't just put in a full day's work. You ought to work for 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. EVERY year. If you think you just work to make some change, or you think that your boss works you too hard when he says you really need to work 2 or 3 extra hours every night for a week if you want to keep your job, then you are mistaken. Sadly, some people roll their eyes and quit on the spot if a job is not to their liking.Do you think Jesus just said "Okay, take me away" one morning? No!!! Jesus asked God about all this first, and begged for him to have mercy. He was literally dragged away by one of his disciples and his army, all of whom betrayed him. Judas understood (Finally!!!) after Jesus was turned over, and he punished himself after turning over the money had been paid. He killed himself. He hung himself by the neck because he betrayed Jesus. Jesus died as his work that day. And you think two extra hours of doing something is hard!!! If you think you've got it tough, think of Jesus. He was killed. And to think,he never did ANYTHING wrong. Think about how many people you hurt every day somehow. Think of all the sins you have committed today.Jesus never hurt innocent people's feelings, but shouted at those who had betrayed the lamb of God, or done something truly horrible, like making rules about having to go to church Every Sunday.Just because a few people had gotten into the habit of going every Sunday to learn about Jesus, forgotten WHY they went every week, and made it a rule that everyone was to do just that as well. Jesus loves you, regardless of whether or not you attend an extra day of school every week. Jesus' words and actions were right. He will love you just the same.
Work for God, is all I'm saying. Work hard. Thank you. Oh, and one more thing. Right now, call someone in your house, or maybe you should call everyone in your house, and pray. Pray that ya'll as a family, couple, BFF friendship, or just confusing relationship will work harder for God and will serve Him together. Amen.

Tell Me a Story
Often people ask me to 'tell them a story.' I always shoot back: 'What about?' I'm often answered in the same way: 'Ummmm... Whassup in school?' So I decided that I'll start something. Every end of term (4 times every school year) I'll type-- right here-- what exciting has happened that term. I'll take notes throughout the year, and type them here. If you want to hear a school story, say: What's up in school?, and I'll run for my notes, and I'll tell you about it. I owe you one 4th grade term, though. So this is what I remember.
This year,2010-2011, is my first year with 3 teachers. I switch classes--finally! At the beginning of the year, my friends Reese, Kemori, Ronnia, Ariel, Erykah, and Kyndall presented the idea to me: Making a movie. I thought it would be exactly what they said: a news show. AW, as lots of kids in 4th call a boy named Austin, had done something to pull the urge. AW had gone after a ball in some dirt. He chose a muddy spot. Now. Think about this. AW. Fourth grade's very own Smiley Clown.Ball.Through mud. Oh. Dear. Austin walked into that mud well, actually. Nothing went wrong- until his foot wouldn't come up. Yes. He put all weight on the other foot, and brought up a mud-ball foot. Same thing happened 3 times per foot. Eventually neither came up.Whoa. Mr. Clown smiled, grinned, and laughed at his expanding audience. Miss Douglas and Mrs. Parks were laughing. Mrs. Dean, Austin's teacher, was shouting at all the kids to go play. Then Officer Hyche (She's the school officer) and Mr. Williams (The famous janitor) came out. Mr. Williams grabbed a long stick Austin held onto. AW fell, but eventually got out.WITHOUT his new-looking shoes. This was the first Friday of school. Austin is still at school, still funny, and he still has a nickname. Mud Boy.
We never did get that ball. But the show group decided to cover comedy, not news. We've made Comedy Gals, and we will soon start a new show, which we will most likely call Talent Gals. That's the news. Leave a comment for info. about buying a copy of the show. I don't know how much change, but $20 will be the limit. I'll see to that.;) Thanks!!!
P.S. No credit, debit, gift cards. No cards.Change only.:)

"Sing for This Baby"--A Poem for Baby Wetzel by Callie
Sing for this baby--
Sing for this child.
Be his grace and responsible leaders.
Shout for this baby--
Shout for this babe.
Step first for him to follow.
Love on this baby--
Love on this infant.
Show the blood of the LORD through his heart.
Land hard for this baby--
Land hard for this creation.
Be the one small, soft cushion to break his fall.
Adore this baby--
Adore this art.
House him and his heart forever.
Ache for this baby--
Ache for this one.
Warm his heart and feelings always.
Catch this baby--
Catch this doll.
Hold your arms out for him to trust.
Care for this baby--
Care for this life.
Home his parents, along with him.
Hold this baby--
Hold this heart.
Grab his life and touch his body.
Have this baby--
Have this wonder.
Accept what he is and does.
SING FOR THIS BABY--
SING FOR THIS CHILD.
BE HIS GRACE AND RESPONSIBLE LEADERS.
Sing for this child.
Be his grace and responsible leaders.
Shout for this baby--
Shout for this babe.
Step first for him to follow.
Love on this baby--
Love on this infant.
Show the blood of the LORD through his heart.
Land hard for this baby--

Asher Will Be Wonderful from callie to asher
Asher will be wonderful
Because his parents are.
Asher will preach, And sing God's name--
Because his parents will take him far.
He will dance and celebrate,
Because his parents do.
He will trust and help his friends--
For his parents' trust is true.
Asher will always love the LORD,
And his parents always will.
Asher will have strength to seek God's name--
And his parents- with him- will climb every hill.
Because his parents are.
Asher will preach, And sing God's name--
Because his parents will take him far.
He will dance and celebrate,
Because his parents do.
He will trust and help his friends--
For his parents' trust is true.
Asher will always love the LORD,
And his parents always will.
Asher will have strength to seek God's name--
And his parents- with him- will climb every hill.

Six Flags : Callie's side of the story
This past weekend, the weekend of October 2-3, my Mom, Dad, Caleb, Katie, our cousin Ren, our Uncle Jerrod, our Grandma (Dottie),our Grandpa (Pawpaw), and our friends Sam and Cheri went to Georgia (Atlanta) for a Saturday at Six Flags!!!It was tons, loads of tons, and roller coasters of fun there!!! Want to know what I did- in order? Do not read this if you are pregnant. ( I managed not to throw up.)

1. Log Jamboree
Everyone went on this water ride: You sit in a plastic log.I sat with Mom, Dad, and Katie. I remember it like it was yesterday, and it was.We started out slowly. We turned a corner, and another, and so on.We eventually got fast. We turned, and turned, and just let the water stay in control. We caught onto the slide-like ramp that pulled us up, and...
a turn.We turned and turned and caught another slide-ramp.This time,we went down a super-long slide!!! I felt like my legs would fall off!!! We got our picture taken during that.We turned two more curves, and climbed out.Running,we went to see ourselves on the picture-post. I was crazy-looking!!! I rode this twice.
2. Mindbender
Everyone except Mommy, Katie, (too afraid) and Ren (too afraid) rode this ride. I waited in line,a mix of excitement and fright inside alittle big girl. Finally, I climbed on with Daddy by my side.He videoed the whole thing with Jerrod's hand-camera.I was scared out of my skin.I kept my cheeks bulged, just in case. I managed not to throw up, and I actually had fun! Then we went through the first loop. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was fun!!! I couldn't believe I was alive, but I survived it to narrate such a treat today. We went wild after that, loops, sideways,super-speed -- you name it. We rode one more loop, went crazier, and jerked to a stop.We were through.Oh... to this day I know 1.The "Crazy" Mouse will never be satisfying again. 2.I will never again climb on a roller coaster unprepared again.I rode this one more time with Mommy, and I dared her to take this dare: If she screamed, she bought us cotton candy. If she didn't, I bought it. It couldn't be helped. She screamed.I am still waiting for-- wait. MOM??!!!YOU OWE ME ONE GINORMOUS BAG OF COTTON CANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There.
3. Lunch
We all ate sandwiches at Dee Jay's Diner. The fries were acceptable, but nothing else seemed edible enough. Some dude kept yelling, "Hi!...Welcome to Dee Jay's!!!" About once, the workers repeated it, but more like this: "Hiwelcometodeejayz."Annoying,right?Right.
4.Bunny Town Roller Coaster
All the kids and Dottie and Mommy rode this cool ride.We went in tunnels and we went sideways. It was awesome!!! I loved it!!! Katie Bug really enjoyed it, though. She deserved it.She had watched Mr. Longlegs (a.k.a.Ren) ride her wanted ride: The big swings. She stared at him longingly. But now she was being rewarded.Good Job,Bug!

5. Boar Ride
Katie,Ren,Caleb, and I rode this lame looking ride. The type that you get in and it takes you waaayy up in the air. Well,I rode that. I only rode it for Katie's sake. Just because this was a disappointing day for her. She is over three and a half feet, but not four feet. Ren, Mr. Long-legs, is tall enough for lots. And most rides called for four feet of skin and bones. So I rode this just for her. I was going to pretend I was having the time of my life on that ride. I didn't need to. That ride was fast, furious, and everything I find fun in a ride.I rode ride next to that brown boar's smelly behind. Katie got his head, (did I mention we were riding in pigs?) so I am hoping that helped her feel important.(If sitting on a plastic pig can give any other feeling besides self-disgust.)It was amazingly awesome!!!
6.Swings
Caleb,Katie,Ren, Mom,and I rode these boat shaped swings. We rode twice in a row! It was awesome! It was not crowded at all, either! It was high andwow WOW! At first I thought it would be exactly how I thought the Boar Ride would be. But no. It was amazing. More amazing than boars.Awesome, actually. And it was short.Which is why I am ending here.
7.Wooden Roller Coaster
We waited really long, and the ride was really fast and cool.We went through tunnels and bridges,up and down. But is was too fast. Way too fast.It was fun! Katie bumped her head, and so did I.
8. Henson Cars
Mama and I rode in this car. Actually, I "drove" it. Literally. I sat at a wheel and pedal with tiny tracks in between honest-to-goodness car wheels. I pushed a pedal and turned a wheel. I even had to step off the pedal to stop a few times because of stopped cars and a stop sign. It was awesome, but put Mom and I behind everyone. We rode the short circle. The shortest ride there. I'm stopping. It was that short.
9.Bumper Cars
Jerrod, Katie, Ren, Caleb, and Mae rode this before Mom and I. When Mama and I finally got to ride, my car was backwards! We had to go a certain way, and mine was facing the wrong direction. But I went the right way the whole time, and Mama turned the wrong way and couldn't turn right. I bumped her a lot. Then we wound up bumped into each other. That was the end.
10.Scream Machine
Mr. Sam, Mrs. Cheri, Caleb,Jerrod,Ren, and I rode this.We went uuuuuuuuppp.....DDOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!Uuuuuuuppppppp...........
DDDDOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!Then up,down,up,down, updownupdown. We had a ton of fun. I rode with Mrs. Cheri, Caleb rode with Mr. Sam, and Ren rode with Jerrod. It was super fun!!! :) I loved this ride!
11. Monster Mansion
Mr. Sam, Mrs. Cheri, and I rode that last ride of the night of the night for me. We climbed into a boat, and rode into a cheery tunnel. (I'm not being sarcastic.) A 'bird' took our pictures with monster faces. Then we rode into a room with songs, free kisses, ( A price was marked out on her board,) and warning farmers at the end. We reached "the end," but a farmer screamed, 'Don't go through the tunnel!!!' and what do you know-- we went in the wrong direction. Creepy monsters that growled and jumped at you were there, doing their jobs, for sure. It was freaky!!! Then a nice policeman from the good world appeared, and said in a slightly stern, but mostly kind, relieved voice: "There y'all is-- we's been lookin' fer ya's." Then we went into a creepy, cool mist... with eyes. Green eyes. A dragon's mouth emerged from the mist, and again we took a turn for the worst-- that dumb reptile swallowed us. Swallowed. Down his mouth and through his throat. In his stomach, What did we find? A group of sad nice monsters and farmers and daring rescuers playing blues and harmonica, with sad, feeling faces? No. we saw the end of our ride. I often wonder what happens to those who don't make it out so easily-- those people that really do go through that dragon's digestive system, in the science class of their lives.

I had so much fun that I want to go again, every day. I wish Sam and Cheri could come, and even you. Thanks for
coming to Six Flags-- if you really did, If you came while sitting at your computer, or if you were doing both. I enjoyed your company. Thanks!!!

"Dreaming" by Callie (age 9)
As I sit in my seat,
I can't help it--I dream.
I dream 'bout tonight's dreams,
I dream of hot summer.
I dream, I'm dreaming, I dream.
I can't feel my seat,
This year was so quick!
I feel the ocean, waves, and pool!
I'm dreaming of summer!
I'm dreaming of fall!
I dream, dream, I dream!
I sit here and don't see
my classroom at all.
I see a pool, a beach, condo,
Am I really in school?
I am dreaming, that's all.
Just dreaming.
I think I'll fall asleep.
I dream, I'm dreaming, I dreamed.
You can, too.
*Author's Note: I write for other people's enjoyment all the time, but I usually don't write for encouragement. This poem is to persuade you to dream big every day and night- asleep or not. I dedicate this poem to my former first grade teacher, Mrs. Morgan- probably my biggest encourager, and now I encourage you to dream big- then try to write down your dream, and send it to me.Whaddaya know- maybe a poem will show up right here!!!:)

"When I Read a Book" by Callie (age 8)
I open a book, I read the title, I see what the first chapter is like. It is good, I read number 2. I tell mom, "I've begun a new book." You say the book is good at school the next day. The afternoon is spent reading to chapter 4. In the bath I read chapter 5. I sneak chapter 6 when Caleb's getting ready for school. Chapter 7 is delightful, I read it under blankets. Number 8 I do when I go to Tyler and Tucker's house. 9 is something I set aside and read in April. May comes quickly, I read chapter 10, 11, 12, and 13. In June I read 14 and 15, on breaks from wading at the beach. In July I read 16. I read 17, 18, 19, and 20 in August. I finish in September, chapters 21 and 22. I put down the book, realizing that I finished another wonderful adventure.
To my books and my feelings about them.
To my books and my feelings about them.
"My Decision" by Callie (age 8)
*Callie wrote and read this for her baptism.
I LOVE MY GOD, I know he is good. I want to follow him, and seek him only; for he is the king, the great I-am and I want to know who he is. But one thing is for sure-your love is everlasting. I know that you created everything-clouds to seas. You are the one I want to follow after, you are. Not mom, not dad, you. This is my decision, and I will always store in my heart that I have now showed everyone my choose. Follow or not? Follow. THAT'S MY DECISION.

"Goodness Can Be Found" by Caleb (age 5)
Holy Lord--
God, O God,
I am dying, too.
And I do not believe in strangers.
I just love you;
God, O God,
I would not worship other people.
God, O God,
I am dying, too.
And I do not believe in strangers.
I just love you;
God, O God,
I would not worship other people.
"I Confess, Lord" by Callie (age 7)
Jesus, I put my heart to Yours,
Until I know what I've done;
There will be only one that I know,
Sinless.
Dance in the light,
Now dance in the night,
'Cause I want to see You, yeah.
I won't know till the moment
When I see Your face at last, yeah!
I will have to confess my crime.
I confess, Lord!
I confess, Lord!
I confess, I confess, I confess, Lord!
Yeah!
Give praise to the Lord--
The only, almighty Lord!
Yeah, 'cause I'm dying,
And I want to see you.
I'm wishing that You'll go, oh!
So I can think about my life, yeah!
So I can think.
I need to think--
What have I done?
There are many things I've done,
When how many did God do?
Not even one!
I confess, Lord!
I confess, Lord!
I confess, I confess, I confess, Lord!
Yeah!
I confess, Lord,
I confess . . . Lord.
I confess.
Until I know what I've done;
There will be only one that I know,

"At Sea" by Callie (age 7)
*Written while sitting on a balcony overlooking the Gulf in Destin, FL
When I'm alone by the sea,
I'm just thinkin' beautifully--
Thinkin' 'bout how God created everything
That I see today.
Everything's beautiful;
It's all God's creation,
Everything.
Holy! Holy is the highest.
Holy! Holy is the Lord.
All I can image
Is how God created
Everything.
Everything's beautiful;
It's all God's creation,
Everything.
Holy! Holy is the highest.
Holy! Holy is the Lord.
So when I'm alone by the sea,
I'm just thinkin' beautifully!
'Cause everything's beautiful;
It's all God's creation,
Everything.
When I'm alone by the sea,
I'm just thinkin' beautifully--
Thinkin' 'bout how God created everything

Everything's beautiful;

"The Afternoon in Fall" by Callie (age 7)
Cool breeze---
The crickets start creeking.
The sun looks like it's dampening the world.
The birdies say their good-byes to warmth,
Leavin' in the fall.
Squirrels scampering 'round---
Saying 'bye to summer,
Collecting as they please---
The back yard---silent---
The smells get better and better---
Planes flying overhead---
Cars bringing home workers---
The crickets make sweet music.
The sunset beautiful---
Playing ball with dad---
Cross the street---NOT SAFE- 'cause cars zooming this way and that---
The bright lights cars have shining-
Already getting dark!
OOOhhh!
It's getting cool out!
There's a person passing through our street.
Cocoa 'd be nice and sweet
While it freezes.
The front yard---so still---
Halloween pumpkins are resting and rusting.
The porch is slowly freezing.
The neighborhood quiets down while everyone returns to inside.
The afternoon is great!
The crickets start creeking.
The sun looks like it's dampening the world.
The birdies say their good-byes to warmth,
Leavin' in the fall.
